Beloved Zbigniew but more so Zbyszek or Ziggy, was born in Poland on May 19th 1958. He was the only child of Stefania and Jan Drewniak. He married Maria Wieczorek in 1983 after his required time in the Polish military. They welcomed their first child in 1984 and in that same year Zbyszek made his first trip to the United States, which lasted three years. When he came back to Poland, they welcomed a son and daughter. In 1994 the family immigrated to the US and lived in Chicago IL and became part of the St. Constance Church community. They also welcomed another son. Zbyszek was a small business owner installing windows and traveling all around Chicagoland before the days of GPS, which was no easy feat. On road trips he would often take detours to show the kids his carpentry work. He strongly believed in education and helped all four of his children attain college degrees. He himself took night classes to learn English when his work schedule permitted. Zbyszek loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his mother Stefania Drewniak, his devoted wife Maria and loving children Justyna (Slawek) Wdowiarz, Roman (Gabrielle) Drewniak, Edyta Drewniak and Tomasz Drewniak. He was also grandpa or dziadzia to two grandkids, Jacob and Krystian Wdowiarz.
He will be dearly missed and remembered always.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Zbigniew.
