It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yomaira, also known as Yomi, Yoyo. We will never forget her bright light and big heart, but we will always treasure her warmth, love, and contagious smile. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and she knew exactly how to make a joke when necessary.
After fighting with Calciphylaxis for many months, the Lord called her home. A warrior was born on October 14, 2023. Yomaira passed away on October 14, 2023 at UIC Hospital, leaving her husband, Paul Zuniga, and her daughter, Leilani. In addition to her mother, Antonia Iniguez, and her niece Natalie Iniguez, Yomaira leaves behind a number of loved ones. Yomaira's passing will be felt by many as she was a loving individual. In spite of her many years of struggle, she was blessed to have her daughter, Leilani. Her daughter had been her pride and joy. She battled for her daughter with all the strength that she had left. God acknowledged her exhaustion and hugged her, allowing her to enter his presence despite suffering for so long.
God saw you getting weary.
He did what He thought best;
He put His arms around you
And said Come and rest.
He opened up His golden gates
On that heartbreaking day,
And with His arms around you,
Your youth gently slipped away.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone;
A part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
Those who are interested in paying their respects to Yomaira will be able to attend the memorial service we will hold in her honor at Pietryka Funeral Home on October 19, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Burial services will follow Friday, October 20.
