Sebastian J Gadawski, affectionately known as Joe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in Chicago, IL, at the age of 79. Born on February 23, 1945, Joe lived a life marked by love, hard work, and dedication to his family and community.

In his final months and days, Joe was surrounded by love and joy from his wife, Ellen; his two sons, Joel and George (Julie); his beloved grandchildren, Keith, Kimberlyn, Isaiah, and Josiah; and numerous relatives. This warm gathering was a testament to the deep bonds he cultivated throughout his life.

Joe dedicated thirty years of his professional life to the craft of machining, a field that allowed him to showcase his remarkable mechanical skills. His expertise in this area was rivaled only by his passion for gardening, where he found solace and peace tending to his plants. These activities reflected his character—hardworking, nurturing, and dedicated to creating beauty in both his work and his home.

He is survived by his loving wife Ellen and his brother Henry, along with his two sons, George and Joel. Joe also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy in his life, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives he deeply touched.

Joe's strong spirit and vibrant energy will forever resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now resting peacefully with God, watching over them with pride. Joe will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Visitation services will be held on October 8, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Pietryka Funeral Home located at 5734 W Diversey Ave, Chicago, IL, 60639. A Mass will follow at St. William Church at 12:00 PM, located at 2600 North Sayre Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60707, concluding at 1:00 PM.

Joe Gadawski will be remembered not only for his life's work but also for the warmth and love he shared with everyone around him.
