Miguel Angel Delgado (Mike, Mikey & Beba), was the fourth child of nine siblings. Born to
Rosalina Rios and Domingo Delgado. He was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, father, grandfather
and great grandfather, friend, co-worker and Marine. He leaves behind two sisters, Ruthie and
Ede, and four brothers, George, Danny, Jessie and Tony and his four sons, Vince, Mike, Joshua
and Jordan. Also, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was of Puerto Rican
decent and born in Gary, Indiana in 1952. Raised in the Wrigleyville area as a youth/teen,
finding his trade as an Automotive Body Man as a young man. In 1970 he enlisted in the
Vietnam War as a Marine, honorable, courageous, adventurous, a risk taker. Graduated from
high school overseas and returned home to continue his education at Northeastern University.
He eventually began an occupation with the Chicago Transit Authority as a switchman, lasting
30 years. His purpose was to care, provide and love his mother in her elderly years. In 2010 he
retired and enjoyed twelve marvelous and exciting years of relaxation, travel, and adventures.
The intelligent man that he was loved politics, world events, music, movies, sports, gambling,
outdoors (walking running & hiking), art, and fine dining. His motto was “be true to your
word”, your word is your bond. Say what you mean and do what you say. If something needed
fixing Mike was your man. He was a jack of all trades, mechanic, electrician, plumber, welder,
locksmith, painter etc.
