Maria Sokolowski

Maria Sokolowski, age 88, of Chicago, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2022, peacefully at home. She was born March 15, 1934 in Poland to Marcin and Paulina Kusiak. Loving wife of the late John Sokolowski; Beloved Mother of Zdzislawa (Czeslaw) Falat -Styrczula, Alicja Grazyna(Walter) Lopatkiewicz, Jolanta(Ron)Martin, Jack(Brooke)Sokolowski and the late Eugeniusz Sulkowski; Devoted Grand Mother of Lukasz(Holly) Lopatkiewicz, Peter(Natalie) Lopatkiewicz, Anna(Tomasz)Kowlaski, Anika Falat(Leszek Grabinski), Aneta Falat(Chester Kwasnik), Bruce Branden Jr., Pauline Branden and Grzegorz Sulkowski; Caring Great Grandmother of 21.

Her Catholic faith played an important role in her life. Her rosary and prayer book were always found at her side. She would lovingly end each visit and call with the beautiful words, "Z Panem Bogiem".

She spent her life devoted to her family and those she loved. She worked hard and took great pride in helping and caring for others. She was a loving and generous woman and seeing her family happy gave her great joy.

Maria will be lovingly remembered by family and friends for her faithful trust in the Lord, her passion for helping others, her strength, her resilience, gentle caring nature, her sweet smile, and her devotion to family.
