On April 1, 2023, Lorraine Catherine Anderson passed away peacefully at age 75 after a brief illness with lung cancer. She was born December 19, 1947, in Chicago where she raised her 3 daughters. Although Lorraine was the biological mother of three children, many people considered Lorraine their surrogate mother.
Lorraine is survived by her daughters Angela Anderson-Heller, Jennifer Cook, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, she was predeceased by her daughter Michelle Rabitoy, and grandson Alberto Heller.
If you were to ask anyone about Lorraine, they would all tell you that she was an amazing chef and artist. She was an eccentric woman that lived by her own beat. Raised in the 20th and 21st century she always considered herself a woman of the times. Enjoying the sounds of 70’s disco, rocking out in the 80’s with her daughters and listening to pop/rap music with her grandchildren. Her style was never outdated.
Lorraine was a friend to so many people. She had friends from high school, friends from afar and friends from right here in town. No matter the distance Lorraine always liked picking up where you left off. She loved gardening and enjoyed her weekend getaways with the family in Fox Lake. Christmas was always spent in her home, and she showered people with food, sweets and love.
Lorraine's sense of humor helped her get through many challenges of her life. She loved to laugh and be silly. She was a strong woman and will be missed. The world lost a precious soul.
