Krystyna Solecka née Garbowska, 74, of St. Charles and Addison, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020.
She was born in Poland and worked as an accountant in the textile industry. In 1984, she immigrated with her daughter, Maggie, to join her husband in the United States as political refugees. She was a dedicated long term employee at Von Maur in St. Charles, IL, and had recently retired in 2019. She was an avid reader, loved fashion, and was a gifted seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Adam Solecki; Father, Wladyslaw Garbowski; Husband, Zbigniew Solecki; Sister, Maria Skaskiewcz née Garbowska; and Brothers, Edward Garbowski and Waclaw Garbowski.
Krystyna is survived by her beloved daughter Maggie and son-in-law Slawomir Cichocki. She is also survived by her Mother, Regina Garbowska née Lech, as well as Brother, Jan Garbowski of Ostroszowice, Poland; and Sisters, Wanda Iszczyk of New York, and Alicja Niewiadomska (Adam) of Bodenmais, Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass in Polish will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church, 5345 W. Roscoe St., Chicago, IL 60641. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016.
