Krystyna Leszczynska, of Chicago, Illinois has sadly passed away on January 15, 2022, with her family by her side. Krystyna was born on March 6, 1941 to the late Cecilia Wrobleska and Mieczyslaw Farnik. She was welcomed to the world with the start of World War II. Her young years were traumatic as not only did she grow up during WWII and the Warsaw uprising of 1944 but her playtime as a child was that in the rubble of war. The sounds of war and growling sound of hunger are sounds that no parent ever wants to have their child live through. Luckily Krystyna’s parents managed to buy a goat from a farmer to have in Warsaw so at least there would be milk during this crisis, which goat became Krystyna’s pet. Notwithstanding WWII, Krystyna welcomed three additional siblings, Ryszard, late Bogdan, and Artur, who she helped raise. Krystyna was a fighter – such an experience may dim one's views on life but not her – her rough start in the world only made her stronger. She moved to Chicago in 1983 with her son Robert joining her. Krystyna loved to travel – she visited the great pyramids of Egypt, Turkey, Germany, Russia, South America and so much more. She lived a life full of joy and laughter, always keeping close with her family with her greatest treasure being her three grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife Angelica, grandchildren Delano, Enzo and Von.
