Jerry Gubernat

Jerry John (Jurek) Gubernat, passed away November 3, 2020. Proceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and his wife Anna. Loving Tato to Margaret and Mariusz Nowicki, the best dziadziu to Julian,Mila,Felix. Brother-in-law to Alfreda Lawniczak, Andrzej & Malgosia Boron, Malgosia & Zbyszek Dzon, Wujek,Cousin, and friend.
Born in Rzeszow, Poland September 30,1941. Son of Gustaw and Wiktoria (Mroz) Gubernat, He was the youngest of 3 brothers. Jerry came to America in 1971 to visit with all intentions to return to Poland. But he met Hania in Chicago and made her his wife of 46 years. Together they worked hard to live out the American dream, and built a life full of friends and family. He loved crossword puzzles,
vanilla ice cream, nalesniki, and zurek. He had passion for politics and world news. He was well traveled, but the Arizona desert was his favorite. He was most proud of his well behaved grandchildren, and loved them unconditionally. He appreciated a clean shave, and always expected that from his son in law Mariusz.
Jerry was not a Jack of all trades, he was the master of all, completion each task to perfection. He was hardworking, loyal, honest and committed to his people. He denied his family of nothing. His grandchildren, Julian Mila and Felix, will always remember the hours cuddling and keeping warm with their Dziadziu. They loved taking walks with him, eating ice cream and loved when he would greet them at the airport.
