Eugenia (Gina / Nina) Pelagia Fogiel, age 75, passed away on December 7, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois. Nina Fogiel was born in Komarówka Podlaska, Poland on July 11, 1946. Nina was an amazing, strong and kind woman, opening her heart to all those around her. She was a fiercely loyal friend and loving mother. Always the optimist, you could always count on her to lift your spirits when you were down. She was always there when you needed her, no matter what. Some people collect objects but Nina collected and cherished her friends, near and far. An avid cook, Nina loved to throw gatherings with a massive feast for family and friends. She also contributed so much to her community. For over 20 years, she cooked for the disabled and elderly residents at the Shelter of Gods Love. She left a lasting impact on the residents and director who became her second family. Nina also helped many Polish immigrants apply for visas and helped them settle in Chicago. She always gave, never expecting anything in return. Nina lived life to the fullest moving fast and hard, experiencing all that it had to give. Her deep love for her friends and her family knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her brother, Kristof Szymoniuk and daughters Agnieszka Fogiel and Michelle Fogiel.
