Emil Bryja

Emil Bryja, 84, of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2023. Born in Nowa Biała, Poland to Wojciech and Maria Bryja on February 7th, 1939, he ran his family farm until emigrating to the United States in the 1980s in search of better opportunities. Upon retirement he enjoyed tending to his garden and watching his grandchildren grow and pursue their individual aspirations. Emil is survived by his wife of 60 years Julia Bryja (née Kurnat); children Irena (Paweł) Waksmański, Mieczysław Bryja, Maria (Kazimierz) Sołtys, Anna (James) Roach, Danuta Osinski, Cecylia (Daniel) Turkstra, as well as grandchildren Natalie, Camila, Deryk, Kris, Eryk, Magdalena, Arthur, Lucas, Jessica, Jimmy, Sara, Alexander, Dominic, Emily, John, and great-granddaughter Olivia; sisters Katherine (John) Bartkus, Mary (Walter) Ciezczak, Angela (John) Michonski, Anna Bizub; kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will be missed greatly.
