Bogdan Lewandowski passed away on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, in Chicago, IL. He had recently turned 53 years old.
Bogdan, or Bob as many knew him, was born in Warsaw, Poland on August 31st, 1969. In his early teen years, he attended the Stefan Batory Liceum and Sports Academy. Table Tennis was his first love and he achieved great success in the sport - in addition to being selected for the Polish National Team, he was also called up to the Olympic Cadre for the 1988 Olympic Games.
His travels brought him to Chicago, where he thought he was going to work for just a summer - that trip quickly turned into a lifetime. At 23, he married Urszula Rybak, with whom he had two children: Lisa Monica Lewandowski and Michael Kamil Lewandowski. While the marriage with Urszula did not last, their friendship did and they continued to raise their children together until his passing.
Bogdan truly lived a vibrant life. He loved to travel, indulge in decadent foods, and was always quick to crack a joke. Throughout his life, he befriended so many people in his personal, professional, and athletic circles - his memory will continue to live on in all the hearts he touched and the smiles he brought.
He is survived by his children, Michael and Lisa Lewandowski, his parents, Piotr and Zofia Lewandowski, his brother Dariusz Lewandowski, and his nephews Julian and Nicholas (Mikołaj) Lewandowski.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, October 23rd, between 1pm - 5pm at Pietryka Funeral Home, located at 5734 W Diversey Ave, Chicago, IL 60639.
A Mass honoring Bogdan will be held on Monday, October 24th, at 10am at Holy Trinity Polish Catholic Church, located at 1118 N Noble St, Chicago, IL 60642.

Bogdan will be cremated, with part of his ashes remaining in the United States, and part being laid to rest in his hometown in Poland.
