Loving Husband of Helen T DeVeyra
Admired Father of Avelino DeVeyra Jr., Heidi DeVeyra, Amiel DeVeyra and Arlan DeVeyra
Avelino U DeVeyra Sr, 87, of Chicago IL., passed away on April 29, 2020, at home in the company of his loving family.
Avelino was both lawyer and CPA. He completed preparatory law at the University of the Philippines where he became ROTC Corp Commander, a member of Vanguard and the Alpha Phi Beta fraternity. He had a florishing career in the civil service as assistant manager at the real estate department of the Social Security System before he and family migrated to the United States.
A very intelligent and honest man, he could be quite stern but also warm and outgoing. He was always happy to see his grandchildren and loved to make people laugh.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 5, from 3-8pm at Fullerton Funeral Home, 5735 W. Fullerton, Chicago IL 60639. Family and friends are all welcome but please be advised we will be complying with COVID-19 guidelines and limiting groups to no more than 10 at a time.
