"With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Koso family announce the passing of our generous father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Antal “Tony” Koso, who died peacefully in his home on July 26th in Chicago, IL at the age of 76. Tony is survived by his children Marijana and Dragan Koso; grandchildren, Michelle Koso, Matthew Koso, and Nikola Koso; and sister, Margita Izdrajlovski. He is preceded in death by his parents, Istvan and Katalin Koso; wife, Milka Koso, and brother Pista Koso. A dedicated and altruistic member of his community, Tony often referred to as the “Mayor of Elston Avenue'', as he always ensured to look out for his neighbors and spread kindness with every path he crossed. If you knew Tony, you knew he had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor - as well as you knew he was strong willed, determined, independent, and stubborn at times… particularly when extending an offer to lend a helping hand, you just knew he would respond to with the infamous “If I need help, I ask”. The Koso family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Traditions Health Hospice, who had gone above and beyond to ensure that his final days and weeks were comfortable and peaceful. To his nurse Chrissy, the family is forever grateful for her endless support, mass amounts of love, as well as for taking Tony into her care, as if he was one of her own family members. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. Tony truly loved everyone - and if you knew him, you knew it.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled, with details to be determined."
